Youth Elevate is a three-month programme of bespoke support to help you prepare for employment, funded by Greater Manchester Combined Authority. Through one-to-one support from a youth coach, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build confidence
  • Learn communication skills
  • Remove barriers to employment 
  • Develop your skills

The programme prepares you for employment through life skills, employability sessions, work experience, placements, and mentoring.

You’ll receive:

  • Bus fares to coaching sessions and work placements if needed for the duration of the programme 
  • Credit Union membership
  • Personal allowance to cover items such as interview clothes, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card
  • Access to a range of support services provided by Southway

You’ll be offered a 12-week work placement for up to 21 hours per week paid at the National Living Wage during your programme, in one of these sectors:

  • Housing
  • Administration
  • Digital
  • Volunteer
  • Social media
  • Health care
  • Clinical
  • Construction
  • Hospitality

Placements may lead to apprenticeships or more permanent paid employment, and you might gain accreditations in first aid, health and social care, food hygiene, and more.
